Physical Education Overview
K - 2
In the younger grades we take advantage of a child's natural curiosity by exploring different manipulatives and movement patterns. Examples of manipulatives are bean bags, foam balls, soccer balls, basketballs hoops, jump ropes, paddles, and frisbees. A strong emphasis is on throwing and catching with various balls. Movement patterns involve safely traveling in the gym, hopping, jumping, skipping, galloping, leaping and karaoke. Our goal is to have our students enjoy moving in a variety of ways.

In third, fourth and fifth grade we teach about physical fitness, emphasize skill development, and play modified games. Throughout the year we focus on fair play and sportsmanship. Our goal is to have our students enjoy physical education and continue on with an active lifestyle.
